I would like to recognize Loma Flowers, MD, for the mentoring I have received from her. Additionally, I want to publicly recognize her commitment to mentoring for many of our medical students and our UCSF Post-Baccalaureate students. She spends countless hours running mentoring seminars for the UCSF UIM mentoring program and a medical student elective course, “Women of Color”.  I have learned many important lessons from Loma, including the value of building community as a way to improve mentoring at UCSF.  She is a terrific role model.
