Open Access: New Developments in the Publishing Space

The Campus Council on Faculty Life (CCFL) cordially invites you to join Peter Binfield, PhD and a panel of experts as they discuss the “nuts and bolts” and future of open access publishing.

Peter Binfield, PhD is the founder and publisher of PeerJ, an open access peer-reviewed scholarly journal. The goal of this publishing effort is to improve the publishing experience for authors while decreasing the cost of publishing. Prior to starting PeerJ he developed PLoS ONE into the largest and most innovative journal in the world. He has a PhD in optical physics and has worked in the academic publishing world for almost 20 years.

Taking the Difficult Out of the Difficult Conversations

In both our professional and personal lives, difficult conversations are inevitable and ripe with varied opinions, strong emotions and high stakes. Learn about your own style of responding to conflict and possible modifications as the key to approaching the most difficult of conversations and situations.
A process for engaging in difficult conversations will be demonstrated with opportunity to practice through role-playing.
