Recent Changes in UC Academic Personnel Policy

Effective October 1, 2009, the following Academic Personnel Policy revisions have been issued:

APM-110-4, Academic Personnel Definitions: The section is modified to add a definition of "domestic partner" to academic personnel definitions. This definition is consistent with the one found in Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM), Section 2. http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/apm/apm-110.pdf
APM-230-17,Visiting Appointments: The revisions to this section allow for a total period of consecutive service not to exceed three years for appointees in the Visiting Assistant Professor Programs in Mathematics. APM-279-20, Clinical Professor Series, Volunteer Series: The change in the title of this section to "Conditions of Appointment" is made to reflect that appointees in this series are volunteers. http://www.ucop.edu/acadadv/acadpers/apm/apm-279.pdf

APM-765, Death Payments: This is a new APM section added to implement Section 103.8 of the Standing orders of The Regents (Death Benefit), and to clarify eligibility criteria for academic appointees.
