Academic Demographic System (ADS) Discontinued

Directions for Departments

  1. Review all open searches for your department that are currently active in ADS and determine the following:
      1. Searches where a final applicant has been selected
      2. Searches which need to be re-opened in AP Recruit, so that the search for applicants may continue.
  2. For a full list of open searches in ADS listed by department, click here to open the Excel file Open Searches in ADS as of November 19, 2014.xls. Note: This file was last updated on November 19, 2014, so if you have recently closed a search on this list it may still show as open. You can also find open searches, by looking in ADS directly. Your service center can assist you with this review of open searches.
  3. Work with your Service Center to submit new Academic Recruitment Plans for searches that need to be re-opened in AP Recruit, and/ or to submit Search Process Reports to close ADS recruitments where a final candidate of choice has been identified. Please keep in mind that the new ARP form has additional fields for AP Recruit that need to be addressed, which were not on the original ARP. However, copies of the original ARP are available through your service center if you would like access to the original. FOR SOM ONLY: FRPO approval will NOT be required for searches relisted from former ADS searches.
  4. For all searches you have re-opened in AP Recruit, you should contact all previous applicants and provide them with a link to the new job listing. Contact information for your applicants can be obtained from ADS directly, or through your service center. If you would like to manually upload applications that you received outside of the AP Recruit system and would like system instructions, please contact the VPAA specialist named in the ARP approval email that you received.

Please note if none of the actions above are taken, all searches will be formally closed without a final applicant selected when ADS is retired on November 30, 2014.
